How bank auctions work in India

When a secured borrower defaults, a bank may enforce its security interest and sell secured assets under the SARFAESI Act and applicable rules. Other auction types may follow different laws and procedures. A publicly posted notice describes the asset, reserve price, earnest money deposit, inspection schedule and bidding procedure.

Look for the official notice, check the bank's contact information independently, verify encumbrances and possession status, and obtain professional legal advice before participating. Dates and sale conditions can be amended or withdrawn by the issuing bank.

AuctionWindow is a discovery directory only. We do not verify title to land, guarantee availability, provide investment advice, register bidders, hold funds or conduct auctions. Only the issuing bank or its authorised auction service can answer binding questions about an individual sale.

Payment & fraud safety

Never pay money through AuctionWindow, a WhatsApp message, or an unverified QR code. Check the original bank notice and independently confirm any auction portal, EMD payment instructions, and official bank contacts before transferring money. AuctionWindow does not accept bids or deposits.
